Once students have their own Google account through the school district they will have everything Google has to offer at their finger tips. They will be able to create and edit documents with ease, never have to worry about saving or losing their work again and have assignments, rubrics and uncompleted work at their finger tips. Literally. You can access these applications from any device that has internet access; iphone, ipod, android, laptop. Students will learn to collaborate with peers, while gaining real world experience with the best Google and the tech world has to offer. GAFE will also offer students instant feedback on assignments and tests, allowing them to learn from their mistakes when the concept is fresh in their minds.
Starting students with GAFE in elementary school only gives them an advantage when in junior high. They will have already learned the basics and will be able to consider themselves Google Ninjas before they graduate from Grade 6. It is highly advantageous that students start early and learned the skills only gained from collaborating on a project with classmates, how to properly research a topic, having several peers edit and comment on work all at the same time, being, not longer being afraid to present a project or feeling unprepared.

Chromebooks for Education
Chromebooks look like an ordinary laptop, but they are actually quite different. A chromebook runs on the Chrome Operating System. This means that you must have a google account to access all the applications Chrome has to offer. You also need to have access to the internet when using a chromebook, nothing is saved on the device, it is all stored in the Google Drive. Google Drive is a cloud based storage system, it's like a 32GB+ usb drive that you have access to wherever you have a device that has access to the internet. Students school accounts have unlimited storage. I can access my drive and share and edit documents from my android phone.
